Biography:

Steve is the Chief Executive Officer of Arnett Carbis Toothman LLP and Co-Coordinator of the Firm's Tax Practice. He has over 39 years of public accounting experience, the last thirty-six of which have been concentrated in taxation.

Steve’s background includes extensive tax planning and compliance work dealing with commercial entities. His experience includes facilitating the successful execution of tax examinations, mergers and acquisitions, sophisticated business and tax transactions, and review of new and proposed legislation. He has taught and presented several training classes and seminars on taxation for the West Virginia Society of CPA’s and other organizations.

In addition to being a CPA, Steve has achieved the designation of a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and a Charted Global Management Accountant (CGMA).

Steve graduated with honors from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting. A Certified Public Accountant in West Virginia, Steve is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the AICPA Tax Division, the West Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Charleston Chapter of the West Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is former Chairman of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce Tax Committee, twice Chairman of the West Virginia Tax Institute, a former Chairman of the Charleston Area Tax Group and former Chairman of the West Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants State and Local Tax committee.

Steve’s past and present civic, charitable and social activities include the CAMC Foundation, West Virginia Chamber of Commerce, State of West Virginia Judicial Replacement Advisory Committee, YMCA, American Red Cross and Edgewood Country Club.
