3. Life & Work Balance
ACT employs a concept of core working hours, defined as from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. when everyone is expected to be working at a client location or in the office. ACT’s flexible work arrangements are designed to provide you with the flexibility you need to fulfill personal commitments without having to utilize accrued paid time off (PTO) as long as you work a minimum 40 hour work week.
Paid Time Off (PTO)
ACT offers Paid Time Off (PTO) which combines vacation, sick leave and bereavement. Time is accrued monthly based on years of employment with Arnett Carbis Toothman:
Out of Town Compensation Policy
ACT pays for one hour of time off or one hour of paid compensation for each night out-of-town on client related business. For example, if you work 40 nights out of town on client related business, you would earn an additional week of pay, PTO, or a combination thereof.
ACT recognizes the following days during the year as paid holidays for its full time employees:
- New Year’s Day
- After busy season floating holiday
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Day after Thanksgiving
- 1/2 Day Christmas Eve
- Christmas Day
4. Developing Your Career
To enhance performance and nurture career development, all employees below Manager are assigned a Mentor. Your mentor will help you learn about our culture, values, practices and procedures. A mentor will also provide ongoing performance and career feedback, help you resolve problems and issues that may arise and answer a variety of work-related questions.
It is a process of sharing with employees the insights that Mentors have gained from personal and professional experiences. Mentoring helps employees plan their careers and adjust their behaviors to fit our organization.
A wide variety of assignments will be yours. Arnett Carbis Toothman’s clients range from sole proprietorships to consolidated corporations in an array of industries and services. 5. Dress Policy
ACT employs a “business appropriate attire” policy, also known as Business Casual. The Firm’s definition of “business appropriate” means clothing that is tailored, pressed and professional at all times. ACT, and you, are judged by how we appear; therefore, we encourage staff to strive to dress professionally.

Medical flexible spending account where up to $2,550 may be deferred for Medical purposes
Dependent Care flexible spending account where up to $5,000 may be deferred for Dependent Care purposes.
8. Life Insurance
Employees are eligible for coverage the 1st of the month following employment. Firm pays full cost for dependents. An employee is covered three times their annual salary up to $100,000 maximum coverage.
9. Short-term and Long-term Disability Insurance
ACT pays the full cost for both the short term and long term disability insurance which begins coverage approximately 2 weeks after a disability, including pregnancy.
