  • Sara has over ten years of experience working in acute care reimbursement, serving as the Manager of Reimbursement for a large hospital system and as a Hospital Consultant at a regional public accounting firm. She has experience in the areas of compliance, financial analysis, and strategic decision making for all sizes and types of hospitals.

  • She has extensive experience in preparing hospital Medicare and Medicaid cost reports and specializes in the areas of trial balance mapping, cost reclassifications and adjustments, wage index reporting, disproportionate share reimbursement, PS&R mapping, and settlement calculations. Sara has also worked with hospitals to analyze rate reviews, assess CMS audit adjustments, and to appropriately calculate and manage third party settlement reserves.

  • Another area of expertise for Sara lies in the area of provider-based facilities. Over the course of her career, Sara has successfully managed the conversion of over 200 clinics to hospital outpatient departments, assisting hospitals from the initial financial analysis through filing attestations with Medicare in order to demonstrate program compliance.

  • Sara has extensive experience with the Ohio Hospital Care Assurance Program agreed upon procedures, the Medicare CMS 855 enrollment process, Rural Health Clinic regulations and reimbursement, and the HRSA 340B Drug Pricing Program enrollment and recertification activities.

  • Overall, Sara is dedicated to excellent client service and finding ways to optimize reimbursement while streamlining processes to make engagements run smoothly and effectively. She enjoys regulatory research, teaching reimbursement concepts, and conducting training programs in both internal and external settings.
